Summer weddings of dear friends coming to the blog soon! Here's a cute gif to tide y'all over.
I have never been so excited for a person to come into this world. I have watched her parents meet, fall in love, and become a family. My best friends are going to be naturals at this whole parenting thing. She is already so loved and appreciated.
Let me tell you about my best friend: She's a trail blazer. Quite literally! She climbed a mountainous trail just to capture these sweet moments. Seven months pregnant and in a dress no less, I could barely keep up with her!
Little girl, I can't wait to meet you and watch you grow up to be a strong, beautiful woman like your mother.
Part 2 of my Salt Lake/Park City trip this past spring included the cutest baby shower on the planet!
On April 16, 2003, Derek Pond and Rachel Davis became the middle school version of 'an official couple.' Unlike most middle school 'couples' they maintained this status through four years of high school and then Rachel's college career. Over the years this fun-loving pair has been an inspiration to many in their unwavering support and love for each other. On the couple's 12th anniversary they were wed by one of their best friends at Warner Winery in their hometown of Paw Paw, Michigan. I've had the pleasure of watching these two jokesters grow for nearly a decade and cannot adequately describe the joy they both bring to those around them. It was an honor to document their special day with my own special person, Dan Baker. ~T.K.
Not that we're complaining! In the past couple of months we've had a ton of fun shooting video and photo for a couple of organizations in the Metro Detroit area. From an architectural ball, to Hollywood in Detroit, and The Shamrock Fest in Corktown, we've had the pleasure of meeting new, artistic friends and enjoyed the Detroit cultural/social scene.
Here are some highlights.
Originally, Rooney & Company had planned on attending DP2A's event for a fun night out with the team. Oscar nominated shorts and an after party at the Detroit Historical Society? Count us in! Not only did we get to enjoy the event, but also made short promotional video for Detroit Passport to the Arts and took a few photos. If you are a young professional in the city looking to expand your horizons in terms of art and culture, we recommend checking out their passport program; an opportunity to attend events without breaking the bank.
Did we mention SuperDre was there?
What do we love more than a good love story? Our dear friends' love stories! We've all known Erin for some time, and when Charlie came into the picture, it was clear how much they cared about each other. They were married at the picturesque Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania this past August. And there was a waterfall. A WATERFALL. Romantic and obviously scenic, we are so glad they chose Dan to capture their special day.
Jenny and Tiffany's vintage inspired wedding was an awesome opportunity to collaborate with guys of Allied Productions in Grand Rapids. So many great moments from this day, although my favorite had to be their vows to one another. Tiffany was saying she had never met anyone who understood her weirdness until Jenny came along; that they were like soup and salad. For some reason these few lines hit me slightly harder than most vows I've heard, because really, aren't we all just looking for that other person who gets our weirdness?
Nothing is sweeter than two of your best friends marrying each other. I met these crazy kids back in 2008, during our first semester of college. Phil was the quiet and kind guy across the hall and Callie was the most adventurous person I had ever met. They were perfect for each other. It was difficult watching them leave our beloved mitten state for Salt Lake City, but after one visit I completely understood their decision. The place is majestic! I felt so honored to stand next to these beautiful people on their wedding day and I'm so thankful our own Dan Baker was able to capture it all. I love you both.
